Update (3/25/2023): The weather is expected to clear up a little later today, so we still plan on going out to the Big Blue Observatory tonight in New Haven. The library is partnering with the Eastern Missouri Dark Sky Observers for a night of stargazing at the Observatory in New Haven. View the wonders of our universe such as planets, stars, and nebula through the 30″ Dobsonian telescope. Meet at the Big Blue Observatory at the Cedar Creek Conference Center, 1401 Olive Rd, New Haven, MO 63068. If the event is cancelled due to clouds or inclement weather we will meet on Saturday, April 22nd. Saturday, March 25th at 7:00 p.m. All Ages

Author and historian Tim Grove will join us in the City Hall Council Chambers to answer questions about his 10 years working at The Smithsonian. His career has included positions at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the Missouri Historical Society, and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Virginia. During the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial 2004-06, Tim helped develop the national exhibition which traveled the country.
