The Friends of the Washington Public Library’s mission is to support and raise funds for the library.

The Friends meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 4:00 PM unless otherwise announced.  Meetings are open to the public.

Annual Memberships are available at the Library. The membership year runs from January 1 through December 31. Membership levels are:

  • $10 Senior Citizen (Individual)
  • $15 Scribe (Individual)
  • $25 Family Membership
  • $25 Wordsmith
  • $50 Short Story
  • $100 Novel
  • $250 Classic
  • $500 Epic
  • $1000 Best Seller
  • $5000+ Bibliophile (Lifetime)

Ongoing Book Sale

Used books and magazines are available for purchase in the library’s front entrance hallway during all hours that the library is open.

Annual Book Sale

The annual book sale is the third weekend in September. This year the books sale will be held at Washington Public Library.

Extra-Large book donations for the annual sale are accepted during July and August.

Hardback and paperback fiction and nonfiction are accepted. We do not accept encyclopedias, textbooks, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, National Geographic magazines or other magazines older than 2 years.  Audio-visual items are also accepted.
