Saturday, October 11th from 9am to noon. Join us at the Riverfront Pavilion for a special art club meeting outdoors! Supplies provided: acrylics, watercolors, paper, canvas, and brushes (feel free to bring your own supplies). Beyond any personal art supplies, you may also want to bring a couple bottles of water, a chair, and a jacket if the morning is chilly. Open to all skill levels, ages 16 and up.

Art club is going to be meeting down on the riverfront this month at the pavilion. We’re going to be trying out urban sketching en plein air. We will supply the usual supplies of watercolors, acrylics, pens, pencils, and papers. There is seating down there, but depending on what or where you want to paint, you may want to bring a folding chair with you. We recommend a bottle of water or two, maybe one for drinking and the other for cleaning brushes.

The library’s writers’ group, the Washington Wordsmiths, is publishing their 2nd anthology, “‘Doorknobs & Pathways’.” To add to the festivity local authors are invited to bring their work to sell. Come talk to the authors and enjoy festive treats. Copies of “‘Doorknobs & Pathways’” will be available for purchase.

Tuesday, August 19th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Umbrella Art In collaboration with The Homestead at Hickory View we will be making Artbrella’s to raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s Associations. We will provide paint and other art supplies for library littles to decorate a mini-umbrella. During the month of September the umbrellas will hang as an art installation in the Children’s Area. Pick up your Artbrella the first week of October. Ages 5 & Up Registration begins Monday, August 11th.
