Friends Author: Tim Grove “Telling History’s Stories,” March 7 @ 6:30pm

Author and historian Tim Grove will join us in the City Hall Council Chambers to answer questions about his 10 years working at The Smithsonian. His career has included positions at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the Missouri Historical Society, and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Virginia. During the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial 2004-06, Tim helped develop the national exhibition which traveled the country. This event is brought to you by The Friends of the Library and Neighborhood Reads. Books will be sold the night of the event.

Family Reading Night – March 3 @ Washington Middle School

The Community Literacy Foundation, in partnership with the School District of Washington, Washington Public Library, Friends of the Library and the Washington Optimist Club, will host Family Reading Night on Friday, March 3, at Washington Middle School. The program kicks off at 6 p.m. with picture book author and illustrator Colter Jackson sharing her book, “Rhino Suit,” a story of a young girl who feels things so deeply, she builds a tough-skinned rhino suit for protection. But she discovers that to feel the good, it’s important to learn ways to deal with the not-so-good.
